HOLY SHIT
I take back everything I ever said about hating this album. It finally clicked. 1000/10.
Holy fucking shit, this is like Morrowind but in music form and I fucking LOVE it.
(Still not as good as Foxtrot though.)

It's pretty good
Fragile is great too, the Yes Album as well
>>71671111
quads for truth
>>71671025
Close to the Edge lost me when I first heard it, but Siberian Khatru was awesome and And You and I was beautiful. Gave the title song another listen and realized how great it was.
One of my favorite albums now.
>>71671025
so are you just getting into prog? seems like it if Foxtrot is your favourite genesis album. listen to tresspass, and selling england and nursery cryme.
nursery cryme and selling england were hard pills to swallow for me, for some reason. but they're fucking incredible after listening to them a couple of times.
then when you get those albums, listen to the lamb.
just ignore if you're not new to prog.
>>71671025
I recommend giving Relayer a shot next.
>>71671025
This is like how I was with Demon Days.
>>71671320
yeah but that album is actually bad
>>71671336
Soon, you'll get to the final phase of your Prog Journey: realizing that Tales from Topographic Oceans is Yes' third best album and one of the top ten prog albums ever.
>>71671378
but it isn't an opinion it's a fact
>>71671413
Notice how it says "STOP" clearly on the album cover?
It actually means "STOP TRYING TO DEFEND THIS SHITTY ALBUM THAT KILLED PROG."
>>71671415
Guess I'll have to be wrong on this one, then.
Also, I liked Gorillaz before it was cool.
>>71671448
>The album that killed prog
KEK! Record Labels forcing punk, pop, metal, and early hip-hop down everyone's throats is what killed prog.
>>71671507
it was and never will be cool
>>71671528
>it
?
>>71671510
I think prog killed itself with the pompous wank. Thanks ELP.
The recapitulation of "I Get Up I Get Down" is the greatest moment in all of rock music.
>>71671671
You mean Tubthumper?
>>71671302
Suppers Ready > Selling England > rest of Foxtrot
>>71671755
More like
Can-Utility and the Coastliners > Supper's Ready > Selling England > rest of Foxtrot
>>71671755
ok? what about horizons. foxtrot is a much more well structured album than selling england, but selling england has so many of genesis' greatest songs in it. lamb > selling enland > foxtrot/nursery cryme.
>>71671555
>Thanks ELP.
You have to admit, though, ELP's pompous wank was still fucking brilliant. Only ELP could get away with Fanfare for the Common Man, Karn Evil 9, Jerusalem, Toccata, and Tarkus.
>>71671671
Agreed.
>>71671448
>>71671510
Prog isn't dead. It just evolved into industrial music.
>>71671859
It stopped being progressive. So yeah, it did.
>>71671307
relayer > close to the edge desu
>>71671671
When the organ kicks in
>>71671448
What's so bad about it, exactly?
>inb4 "it's too slow"
>inb4 "it's pretentious"
