Ok, I've been obsessed with Pinkerton for a couple months now and need something new to listen to similar to it. Can I please get some more album recommendations? Thanks
I recommend you to broaden your taste.

I agree
i haven't found anything that matches pinkerton, i literally struggle to listen to more than 3 non-pinkerton songs consecutively
top 40 radio
entry level alternative rock
the /mu/ essentials
whatever band was on the t-shirt that girl with the nose ring and slightly too short haircut that you saw that one time was wearing
This was posted in a share thread a year or two ago and it was tagged as "Pinkerton-core". A shit ton of short tracks but I think it's really good.

If you haven't listened to Pavement yet you really should! Start with Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain or Slanted and enchanted

Seconding Ozma

Ovens & Tony Molina's Dissed and Dismissed are underrated as hell. I just wish they were longer and or had more releases.
You should absolutely listen to Smoking Popes. Their first album is Morrissey favorite album btw

This album is very similar to Pinkerton. Sad and oozing with sexual frustration.

Dinosaur Jr - You're Living All Over Me
Built to Spill - Perfect from Now On
Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand
Polvo - Today's Active Lifestyles and Exploded Drawing
Hum - You'd Prefer an Astronaut

This too.
what part of it do you like the overall sound of the album or the kind of whiny(in a good way) personal lyrics and expression

try some 90's emo. Sunny Day Real Estate and The Get Up Kids would probably be good bands to try.

FUCK YEAH! This is the answer. Weezer was friends with RFTC back in the day. Pat and the drummer from Rocket formed The Special Goodness (which kinda sucks). Rocket is the more intense, wall of sound Weezer.

Violent Femme's selftitled deals with similar themes in the same self-deprecating, infantile, blunt manner. Stylistically it's very different from Pinkerton but it's an awesome album and a true classic.
The Get Up Kids.

Lyrically its not very similar. But it has that thick sound pinkerton has. First time hearing it. Good album.
