Overrated as fuck, amd that's coming from an ex die hard fanboy. I'm really started to hate people who idolize these blokes who repeat the same beat for 5 minutes plus because "muh emotionless robotic beats". Sure they have some unique timbres and they know alot about sound design which makes them unique but that their only qualities. Makes it easy to understand why people like Squarepusher and Aphextwin aren't fond of Autechre especially Squarepusher. Tell a mediocre electronic producer to make something that sounds like Autehcre and they won't have too much trouble, tell that same lad to make a song like XMAS_EVET10 by Aphextwin and he wouldn't even be able to do it. Autechre is experimental wank.

Nah man with the amount of sound design plug-ins it's too easy to copy Autechres style even someone with half a brain can string together a song in their style these days. Almost all plug in in general come with presets and since Autechre is all about timbres and fuck all about song progression and unique melody structures you can just preset your way to song completion, you wouldn't be able to do the same with Aphex Twin's because you can't replecate his style using presets it's more so about being talented in melody creation. I've tried and failed more times than i can remember. I've copied both syles and i like making Autechre more because it's just easier.
