Honestly what's with the hype on this album. I understand

I love this album because it's nostalgic and shows what kanye is about. Family and remembering where you came from. I legit almost tore up the first time i heard family business. Shit's powerful yo.

See, that's kinda the point. College dropout feels like a very personal album of his, and the flaws are what makes it. If you want specifics, the instrumentals feel more organic and acoustic than in later albums.

Because there's an emotional connection to this album that all the others lack. Kanye is so genuine on this. Every song details his life. Each song is either very revealing of his character, or he's spittin funny punchlines that only work because the album makes Kanye so damn likeable. And that's the appeal, Kanye isn't an asshole on this.

That being said I think this personality comes off on LR as well, which is why it's my favorite album, but idk something about the lyricism on CD seems to make more of a connection with the listener.
