When you first realized that most youtube videos have shit audio quallity? Don't tell me you seriously rate songs you listen on youtube anon.
>>71603207
oh wait let me get out this big fucking plastic disk that spins around and plays a handful of songs for an hour
>or I could not be a faggot and have a library with infinite music to listen to
>>71603207
Not everyone can afford 2xLP Lizard fripperino

>what are audio files
I post music on youtube.
I use the original flac files and encode them in mp4 with the libmp3lame audio codec at a sample rate of 44100Hz and a bit rate of 320kb/s.
Would you consider that shit?
>>71603332
probably another form of le shit mp3 right? pleb do you even attend the symphony and listen to music properly?
>>71603353
The max audio quality on youtube is 192kbs
>>71603383
Is this true?
I used to use a youtube to mp3 converter. You could her the audible difference drop from youtube.
>>71603425
This is true.
>>71603353
>>71603383
I apparently can't hear the difference between 192 and 320kb/s.
>>71604000
>being this pleb
>>71603207
I figured this out years ago, like when YouTube came out
>>71603383
It's actually 128kbps now but mastering > bitrate
You can find tracks on YouTube that sound MUCH better than CD FLACs if you search exclusively for vinyl rips. Observe:

>>71603357
>probably another form of le shit mp3 right?
no but youtube compresses the audio from any format to 192 kbps which is shit if you listen to anything downloaded in that compared to 320 kbps
>>71604000
>I apparently can't hear the difference between 192 and 320kb/s.
How?? just download the same song in 192 compared to 320 it's so easy to tell the difference, 192 sounds lower and more muddy
>>71604434
Yeah, them scratchy old records do sound so much better..
>>71604874
>reddit meme
You must be 18 to post here
>>71604434
>You can find tracks on YouTube that sound MUCH better than CD FLACs
very few ones
>>71604902
How would you know it's a reddit meme unless you go on reddit?
>>71604434
I just downloaded a couple youtube videos to test this out for myself. The audio streams were both 192 in my player.
>>71603353
lol
>>71604434
OKay, so I just downloaded that first video off youtube and it's playing at 96kbs.
So, what's really going on?
>>71605091
I just downloaded this video https://youtu.be/wmsiciDG088 and it's playing at 191kb/s.
What gives?
Use Youtube music. Band - Topic. It sounds fine since it's official, not just some persons random upload, as good audio quality as Youtube can handle. You can find loads of shit.

>>71605264
>as good audio quality as Youtube can handle
Youtube can handle nothing
>>71603207
My faggot roommate downloads songs from converted youtube video. Everytime I hear his shit i scream internally
/mu fags cant even tell the difference between an mp3 and FLAC. This is just a topic people bring up to seem patrician. Is the music capable of making you feel something (?) because that's all that really matters. Does God Speed become cringe-core at 192kb/s? Fuk yurselfs
Where does /mu/ download high quality flacs?
i'll listen to a song off an album im interested in, and if i like it ill download it.
also listening to really old and obscure punk albums on youtube is fine because they all sound like they were recorded in a dumpster so the bitrate really doesn't matter very much
>>71605091
If I do
>youtube-dl -f m4a
Then it outputs 128kbps
If I do
>youtube-dl -x
Then it spits out a 128kbps vorbis/opus usually
>>71605192
With 4k Video Downloader I can get a 192 of this while youtube-dl only gets 128, but this one only gets 128:

(which is better than the other one posted, I fuckin dare you to find a CD FLAC version that sounds as good)
>be me, get a rolling stone magazine with a rolling stones special at age 12
>look up all the albums you see on the magazine (basically their extended discography)
>decide to check everything out this summer, since you have no school
>proceed to download all the albums, song by song, converting videos from youtube into mp3s
>spend weeks renaming and filing each track correctly
>when i finally finish, my uncle shows me the pirate bay
