modest mouse do what they do incredible well, but I admit that what they do isn't for everyone. I like the kind of clever lyricism, the directness, the songwriting, and just the general vibe. World at Large is not even one of their 30 best songs though.

like i'll admit you can write a modest mouse song in like 45 seconds of stream of consciousness, but I still find it valuable and enjoyable to listen to, there aren't tons of other acts doing that sound other than kind of Built to Spill

Modest Mouse is for depressed teenagers and wife-beating alcoholics, chances are if you don't fall into either of these two groups you won't be a fan
