Guitar power rankings:
Actual guitar tier:
1. Fender
2. Gibson
3. Music Man
4. G&L
5. Schecter USA
Meme Tier but still quality

6. PRS

///power gap////
Due to: Chink metal parts; pickups with barely any copper, small chunks of wood, bad filing, mixed neck build quality
7. Fender Mexico
8. Schecter Diamond Series
9. Ibanez
10. ESP

/power gap/

Shit Tier:
"its just a piece of wood why pay more?" Bridges made of recycled pop cans, wiring is done withi 90% pop can 10% copper, paint job is china tier, neck isn't even sanded, plywood, frets aren't filed, shit tier gear ratios on tuners, pickups are literally pop can wires with a magnet taped on.

11. Epiphone
12. Squire
13. LTD
14. Chapman Guitars

This is indisputable mates.

Check out htat last line boys.

Also, G&L is an excellent company. However, the comanche is the only original guitar and their resale value isn't as high. Thus its lower than Fender. Still its a great guitar at a great price.

>>71581764
Gibson is lower because of the atrocity that was the 2015 line up. The 2k guitars come with gig bags. etc.

Phrygian Dominant dominating the music is usually a metal thing. In other genres it'll pop up for a song or two, but it won't be the tonality they use most of the time. For example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6R4kCQk6XA
Neither are guitar-based, but still.
>>

You must be autistic. If Zep got back together and you were at a show instead of enjoying you are looking at his picking and not just listening.I dont encourage players to not pick above the pickup but he has earned the right to not give a fuck.
>>
>>71582807
This is exactly what I'm looking for. I still lack the theory needed, but I would love to one day combine this with guitar music. Not by just playing the modes, but also sort of imitating the playing style.
>>71582916

>>
>>71583553
>You must be autistic.

>>
>>71583004
Where you strum on the guitar makes different sounds because of where the pickup is picking up the vibrations. It's why if you pick really close to the bridge it makes a different sounds than when you play up near the neck. Same with palm muting closer or further from the bridge.
Holy shit, you guys are just pretending to be retarded, right?
>>
>>71583464
Thats my point im just bored and interested in this thought process.
>>
>>71583553

>>
>>71583600
I never said it wouldn't affect the tone. It's just not "regular" strumming. Most guitarists keep place their pick near the pickups. Not always the same spot but definitely not nearly as erratic as Page in that clip.
>>
>>71583611

>>

no, their hardware is much much better, they have better designs, and most importantly, they actually do the bolt on neck thing to its fullest ability. they shape necks on US models to the pocket, so they're incredibly tight.

I was at a guitar shop the other day and asked if the salesguy knew anything about a Tele on the wall. He looked at the tag and was like "oh this is a 'Blackout' model..." I looked at the tag and it said BLOCK OWT. I had to be the one to tell him that meant it had block inlays and was in Olympic White...
>>
>>71585216
Here we go...
>their hardware is much much better
Nope. Site the sources that say this. Protip: you can't.
>they have better designs
Their designs are just Fender knockoffs, nothing more. Leo Fender sold Fender Guitars to CBS when he came down with what he though would be a terminal illness. When he finally recovered and realized he might live for much longer he wanted to get back in the guitar building game but he couldn't afford to buy Fender back from CBS because the brand was worth so much by then, so he started G&L Guitars. Leo Fender perfected his designs in the 50s and 60s, the reason G&L guitars look similar but slightly different is because he wanted to use the designs he perfected but didn't want to be sued by CBS for copying the Fender Guitars they owned.
>>71585216
So does Fender. Factory built guitars are made with computer controlled CNC machines now. But if you have a legitimate source calming G&L guitars have a superior neck pocket fit than Fender guitars I'd love to read it. Protip: this source doesn't exist because you're full of shit.
>>71585503

MIMs have more unit to unit variation, so make sure you play the exact one you intend to buy.

If the neck and fretboard play well, you can swap out the internals later.
>>
>>71585578

they make them purposely a bit too tight and shave the sides, fenders come from the factory with gaps

>>

>>
>>71585721
pots are the same I think, but pickups are not.

American ones also maybe have better nuts and tuners and other hardware, or at least that's true of the ones from several years ago.
>>
>>71585713
>making them with CNC machines =/= perfect pockets
No, that's exactly what it means. The computer milling out bodies and necks is running off a CAD drawing that's spec'd down to the millimeter. On a CNC mill there are no "whoopsies".
>they make them purposely a bit too tight and shave the sides, fenders come from the factory with gaps
No, they don't. The only Fenders you could find that have theses types of problems are the ones built before computer controlled CNC milling became the standard in factory based mass production guitar building.
>>71585713
>im not gonna source something
No shit, of course you're not. You're not going to provide a legitimate source for anything you've claimed because you can't. In other words I called it before you replied.
>Anecdotal evidence is based on hearsay rather than hard facts. People like to share stories about things that happened to them, or that they heard about, to make a point. That kind of talk is anecdotal: based on small, personal accounts.
>>
>>71585578
I don't have the cash or need for a new guitar right now, but if I were to get a new one, it would be G&L for the custom build options and newly available nitro finishes with matching headstock. >>
>>71586012
G&L is in business to make money just like Fender, that's the way it's always been and you're delusional if you believe otherwise. The G&L "custom build options" aren't any different than Fenders FSR guitars which include plenty of guitars with nitro finishes with matching headstocks.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to buy a G&L for your own personal preferences but claiming they're "superior" to Fender guitars in any way, shape, or form is a laughable notion at best.

I'm going to tell you the truth about this. Most younger people have ruined their ears with earbuds. Hearing damage rolls off from the top end and comes down the frequency range. Earbuds are terrible for your ears, it's called "direct injection". Pete Townshend didn't lose his hearing from playing live shows, he lost it recording with head phones that were turned up too loud in the studio, look it up. Same thing happened to Rush Limbaugh, he lost his hearing using headphones that were turned up too loud during his 20+ years in a broadcast booth.

Most younger people can't tell the difference between rosewood and maple fretboards because they've completely ruined their ears. It's no use arguing about the realities of how different the two material sound because they'll never hear them because they've lost the ability to hear in those mid to upper frequency ranges.
>>
>>71586594
I like the rhythm circuit on my Jaguar too much to be able to ever dismiss knobs. I'm also extremely sensitive to shrillness, and it's easier to mess with the guitar than to go over to the amp and dick around. I mean, they're sort of the same idea, but I don't want to bend over, u no?

I like the Express series, especially the 5:50. I assume you went on Youtube and searched "Mesa express metal"? A bunch of demos pop up that'll show you what the high gain sounds are like.

What do i need to play bass like that and compose/produce songs like that so i can guitar solo over it
>>
>>71589383
I did! So far. it sounds great. I might have to slap an overdrive in front of it, like another anon suggested. The cleans on that amp are pretty great tho.

Yeah I remember the cleans being really good when I tried them. If I could get any Mesa Boogie amp it'd probably be an Express 5:50+.

It's old school funk bass lines (before slap bass) I don't have any advice other than learn as many 70s funk basslines as you can, eventually you'll start coming up with your own.

Chic is a good band for learning that type of basslines.

I stopped trying to kept up with Roman but does the guy in this pic look anything like Crazyaga? Someone pulled this pic of Roman off of Omegle a while back.
