all UK hip hop sounds the exact same

You really think those three songs sound the same? I specifically chose some of the more out there stuff.
>>71538559
Isn't this basically pop grime garbage, except without all the things that make grime good?
The first sounds like a cheap D Double immitation, the second is boring as shit and the third is a straight up grime flow.
Might as well listen to actual grime tunes, really.

High Focus is great. Nothing but solid releases from them 2bh

the first one is just joey badass and the second one is rejjie snow

>except without all the things that make grime good?
You mean unimaginative beats and less varies structure?
>>71538668
Joey Badass can't flow that well
>>71538668
>the first one is just joey badass
You really think so? He has a completely different flow, and varies it a lot

>unimaginative beats
really now?
Grime is probably the most stylistically varied electronic music genre.
Also, I really hope you're not implying that a Kevin Martin production is "unimaginative", because that would just show how little you understand.

>less varies structure
I'll give you that one, but consider that grime uses 8 bar, because it's necessary.
It means any MC can chat on any instrumental, even if they have never heard it before. And it makes DJing it a lot less of a chore.
This ties into this whole "grime is dance music" idea.

Whoops, fucked the first link

>really now?
Of course I'm generalizing, but most pop grime is just as bad as most pop rap in america.
>It means any MC can chat on any instrumental, even if they have never heard it before. And it makes DJing it a lot less of a chore.
Exactly. I don't want to listen to MC's just lining off bars over grime beats, I want to listen to songs that have been produced and made as the artist wants them to be.
Bump for repping high focus
>>71538559
Grime is much better.
>>71538763
Well, yeah pop grime is complete shit and a disgrace.
>I want to listen to songs that have been produced and made as the artist wants them to be.
Well ok.

The thing about grime is that MCs have gotten so good at their thing that they can make it feel effortless.
