You can't base your whole view of the genre on one song. Heck, just by Oasis, would you say Rock n Roll Star, Some Might Say, Supersonic, Live Forever etc. are Pop? Maybe Pop Rock, sure, but they're mostly based in Rock. Others in the genre more so. Suede or Supergrass for example wouldn't be considered Pop.
