Well, as for me, i would not consider meteora "the best" album ever recorded. But as for the favorite one? Sure. This one has something special for me. It has something that makes me come back to it. I might be into something else entirely at a point in a time, but there is always a place for meteora. I cant name another album that makes me come back to it no matter what kind of music i am in to atm. Heck, i wont even list a single track out of there as my favorite, but as for the whole album? Definetely. I dont understand that myself.

I don't think I'll ever be transported away by another album like this one does for me time and time again. The first track wastes no time repainting your atmosphere, preparing you for the world this album is drowns you in. Black fuzz, that iconic drum, and depression all flying through unimpeded. It's a masterpiece and I hate when that word is used, truly, but it fits here.

I love how most people are afraid to say they love this album on /mu/ now. It can be argued what their most creative album is (it's STGSTV tho), but this is their technical masterpiece. This album oozes texture and is layered so fine. Also, some of the best melodies and harmonies since the 60's. I think this is in my top 3 for sure

Nothing, to be honest. Their second album moves into a more lo-fi post-rock direction and isn't as good as Stratosphere. The closest I've found was Valium Aggelein, which is pretty excellent truth be told.

Everybody has been going on about how much of a masterpiece elseq is and while I fucking love the album and all the variety it seems like they go back to a lot of the same sounds and synths throughout the album. Pro Radii is one of my all-time favorite Autechre songs because of how immediate and heavy the drums sound and unlike anything else on that album they are, whereas so many songs use reverb and similar elements that it makes them feel less unique

Also I feel like the approach they've taken with Max/MSP hasn't 100 percent paid off yet. A lot of it is cool but a lot of the tracks (elyc6 0nset is def the worst offender) feel like they don't actually go anywhere meaningful. Versus tracks like P.:NTIL or Lentic Catachresis that are barely recognizable by the end.

Still growing on me but in my book Confield stands as the greatest electronic album ever made for now
