Where were you when we discovered that the "last goodbye" by Shinji was only a legend?

Controversial opinion: Studio version of Long Season is way, way, like way better than the live one.

both are good like really really good

I gotta say the mixing is kind of out there, this being arguably the major problem with the Long Season version which can easily get turnaround with some minor adjustments. Also watching it on youtube doesn't make justice to the album, you gotta pick a verified 1.5mb per second bitrate copy and blast it on really good, vibrant speakers to appreciate the majestic music in full immersive power. I was on the verge of tears and almost fainted when I listened to it a few days ago

I don't like the guitar solo shit on the live version, I think it fucks up the entire mood of the album.

I'm not privvy to what you mean by last goodbye
I know he died shortly after that live set
Does he say last goodbye sometime during that performance?

I thought the guitar solo was really great technically anon, kind of replacing UA's etheral chanting in the studio version which was also great. It's a different take of Long Season and honestly only the 1st part (which is perhaps stronger in the studio version because the momentum of Sato's voice is perfect, but again a matter of opinion) and the final two and half minutes, that stroke me as somewhat similar. The bit that sounds like raining stars with improvised drumming is massive, like 10 minutes long in the live version and is a centerpiece. There's the bit with the violin dialoguing with the guitar solo in the live version, and so on, they are essentially different approaches to the song, both epic, but the live I felt is the definitive climax.

A+ post, I really like this interpretation

it's rumored that at the end of their last performance Shinji gave a tear-filled goodbye

I do love the "Pt. 3" live section, I must say.
I respect your opinion though. The guitar stuff just wasn't a good fit for me, I don't think the playing is bad or anything, it just made the album feel very different.
