I like King Crimson and Peter Gabriel Genesis, is there any other prog that even comes close?
Yes of course

UK
RIP John Wetton
>>71356689
Yes.
Most of prog is great, just avoid pic related like the plague.
>>71356689
>Peter Gabriel Genesis
Have you heard Marillion?
>>71356739
What a shit opinion
I mean some of those yes but youre just being contrarian

Don't forget The Yes Album and Fragile.
>>71357382
Roundabout and HotS are two of the greatest prog songs ever recorded.

What's the greatest Rush album and why is it Fly By Night?
>>71357713
Srs. Bill Burr nailed King Crimson in his cartoon.

I was thinking of another clip, but they totally ripped on King Crimson for the whole season.
>Dad you don't understand prog rock the first time, you have to keep listening
>no I don't, when you get to my age you can recognize bullshit a mile away.
>>71357767
Fly by Night is great, but I prefer permanent Waves. Speaking of, look what is next in my cue to play tonight.
>>71357835
What's the album on the far left? Looks interesting
>>71357767
Fly By Night is the worst of the golden age albums though.
>>71357928
Tyranny and Mutation by the Blue Oyster Cult. Its just some generic 70s rock, albeit quite good generic 70s rock.
>>71357928
I think it's a Blue Oyster Cult album. Maybe Tyranny and Mutation?
>>71356769
This desu.
Marillion were pretty much Genesis if Gabriel didn't leave and they carried on making music like their earlier stuff well into the 80s.
no Asia
no Hawkwind
no Emerson, Lake & Palmer
do you guys not rate them?
>>71357835
when you're done with Tyranny and Mutation, go listen to Secret Treaties
Idunno. I like this tho.
>>71358227
>Secret Treaties
I own a copy but it's got a huge gouge on the side A. After Tyranny and Mutation ends I'm switching to something softer to rest my ears with. I'm thinking Parsley Sage Rosemary and Tyme by Simon and Garfunkel.
Speaking of which, they are pretty incredible if you can get past the hippy fag vibe. I just need Bookends to complete my fave 3 of theirs.
>>71356739
you forgot Rush
Van Ger Graaf Generator are fantastic and don't get nearly enough exposure around here

Here you go. I chose set of diffirent progressive albums you should try these. You should also look trough catalogs of such labels as vertigo, decca and harvest and see if you find something interesting. Happy listening! Sorry for screencapture I had problems with downloading this.

>>71360623
He's probably not falling for it. Give up. No one here takes that picture seriously.
>>71356689
Peter Gabriel's solo stuff is pretty great, definitely worth checking out. Fripp features on III and produced II.
