Is it just me or is this album literally ItCotCK 2.0?
>calm interlude
>leads into an ~8-minute-long song with distorted vocals, disjointed lyric structure, and a lot of saxophones
>segues abruptly into a calm, soothing, flute-heavy, easy-listening folksy song
>a keyboard-centric song with apocalyptic lyrics follows
>after that, a song with rather short lyrics
>then, a VERY lengthy instrumental section
>before finally closing with a song that does contain lyrics
Difference being that ItCotCK has coherent lyrics and a far stronger impact. I've only listened to these first two albums, please don't tell me that King Crimson eventually falls into the oh-so prevalent prog stereotype of nonsensical lyrics and noodling.

its literally a duplicate album, but i like it just as much. Pictures of a city, cadence and cascade are great

The "for my second album, I'll follow the same formula my first album had but be less good at it" thing is pretty common
Dio did it

their earlier stuff after ITCOCK like this album, Islands, and Lizard is (bad) stereotypical prog yeah but they get wayy better later with stuf like Larks Tongues

Ignore this person
Islands and Lizard are really great.
Larks Tongue is their best overral work and should be listened to in one sitting
Red comes close and Starless is their best song
Their 80s output is really good too but a lot different to earlier stuff. Thrak is very underrated though its not essential listen

Its still really good even if it is similar. Its got a more jazzy feel which i like

Kinda, still wish the Birdman Suite that McDonald/Giles put out on their album was the B Side of the album, with Cat Food as a single only.
