The logical place to start would be Ape of Naples (just because it gives you a good idea about all the different facets of Coil), but if you're looking for unsettling and oppressive ambient i would definitely listen to "...And the Ambulance Died in His Arms." I feel like this would definitely fit exactly what you're looking for.
From there I would listen to Black Antlers or Musick to Play in the Dark Vol. 1 and 2
