I've lost my interest in metal years ago and i'm kind of unfamiliar with the latest nowadays, haven't checkt sites or reviews...

So my question is how is the state of metal what are some of the better bands out there relevant one's etc
i've been listening to skeletonwitch i know not the most "partician" band but serpents unleashed really reminded of why i liked metal in the first place.
What are some simiiar current bands and which one would you recommend melodic death metal, thrash, and black metal wise. I'm done with drone and doom for now i want visceral gnawing fast.
