I know this feel, but i downloaded the youtube app that lets you minimize and keep listening the music
>>
That's not Spotify's fault.

Spotify is a garbage company that pays artists poverty wages.

Stop giving them shekles.

Pirate it you loser. Or just buy it from the bad/label
>>
>>71344239
in b4 they tell you to

A. buy music, have to download it (possibly in a weird format like m4a) god forbid its physical in which case you have to rip it

B. pirate it, check tags, organize it, load each album for listening, not even supporting the artist

streaming is the one true solution

Thats not really the purpose of spotify. If Boris is such a big deal to you then why don't you already have the albums? Spotify is for music fans not fanboys. Is the literal entire purpose of the Boris album last year not designed specifically so you have to but the physical album to get all 4 channels not just simply 2 tracks?
>>
>>71342973
They're apparently going to stop pay per play this year. Their stock is supposed to go public in about a year but they're trying to renegotiate all this shit first.
>>
>>71344497
Still a bunch of shady thieves.

BUY PHYSICAL MEDIA. RESIST THE TECH JEW.
>>
>>71344520
What are you fucking talking about? The musicians have agreed to it. And buying physical media depends on the price compared to the file. The last CD I bought was Child Bite' s album last year because the lyrics were not anywhere online that I could find, I was a very huge fan of the album and it was very reasonably priced. This year I've bought a few files once they locked me out on bandcamp and a couple I even paid a couple extra bucks for the cassette just to resell them or else I have literally no idea just collect dust I guess. I have not bought one single CD that's come out this year and I've listened to at least a hundred and at least a dozen of them God knows how many times.

Please. I saw how Prince agreed to it.

Garbage company. Garbage industry.

Buy physical media directly from artists and legitimate independent labels.

Spotify is just fucking Columbia Records or Geffin or whoever rebooted.

They suck up $$$ and don't give a fuck about art or music.
>>
>>71344678
Your whole list just talked in a circle except for Prince. That was literally his choice. It is a person's choice how they deal with their last will and testament including not having one. If he did not want his music to be licensed to spotify or anything he wanted them he would've said that in a will.

Are you say in g physical media should be bought instead of buying files even if the physical album is twice as much? Or is a file included with physical media? I mean it is more physical than streaming.

I can't stand you hipsters you are always complaining about shit. Why can't I use Spotify?

How else can I listen to music?
>>
>>71344731
I'm saying relying on these (((tech companies))) as a medium for culture is DANGEROUS.

They are corrupt and compromised, which has been made all too clear to anyone paying attention here in the US for the last 18 months or so. They need to be cut out of the equation.
>>
>>71344777
And here come the shills...
>>
>>71344783
So what do you mean directly? How directly is good enough for you? What form of payment do you expect me to make? My point is that even bandcampnfor example has to take a huge chunk for PayPal which to me is surprising but that's what I was told that they take a huge portion like 30% or even more. I just remember it was shocking at the time. Otherwise how am I supposed to literally dig for albums? Bandcamp is fucking massive for that. Literally unlike anything weve ever seen. Bandcamp and Spotify. Everything else is irrelevant or criminal.
>>
>>71344806
I'm a shillntoo but I'm honest. Like I said their stock is supposed to go public this year. You don't like spotify shilling now? You better get used to hiding threads.
>>
>>71344828
I buy directly from artists and legit indie labels.

Artist sees at worst 50%.

Youth of today need to see these companies for what they are and DROP them, the same way my generation had to reject mainstream radio and MTV.
>>
>>71344777

Soulseek and directly support artists you care about. That will put the most money in their pocket while still allowing you to explore and listen to tons of music.
>>
>>71344847
Oh im sure. All the music tech companies shill on /mu/ jard already.

Silicon Valley is the 'music' biz.
>>
>>71344869
Ok and is bandcamp not direct enough for you. These musicians are supposed to set up their own random websites. And even then I assume you would still use PayPal who will still take a chunk. Then the musician loses out on the absolutely massive network of digging that bandcamp allows. I cannot understate how powerful this is. Otherwise youre limited to whoever spoonfeeds you and God only knows how much they were paid for that or whatever few shows you see and again people pay for that privilege as well. Really the best thing to do is bandcamp name your price and then I pay $20 at least but still a huge chunk will be taken. So yeah if you determine that a band deserves $20 then technically you'll have to pay $30 at least as I recall. Musicians write me gushing about their appreciation and send me fuck loads of free stuff. This is obviously the way they want it. Not to mention if they want you to have it for free then they can provide that. Piracy is literally an obsolete argument with bandcamp. Not that you were talking about that but still.

Or you know, rely on actual music communities.

Where I live (Brooklyn) I'm beginning to see it coming back.

The coffee shop is selling cassettes of local bands.

I'm begining to see actual paper flyers for shows again.

It does my heart good.

These fucking tech companies are snakes in the grass.

Thats whay I just said. The few local shows you can see or the tapes you find. Which youre supposed to what, blind buy? That is an absolute joke compared to bandcamp where you can listen for free a couple times then locks you out. Not to mention is absolutely fundamental to building a local scene. If you're interested in that then I cannot understate the critical importance of using bandcamp.
>>
>>71345065
>foobloat
How in the fucking christ can you possibly call foobar bloated? It's a skeleton of a program.
Stop throwing meme words around you don't understand the meaning of.
>>
>>71345148
Cute but why would I want to pretend? I'll fucking tank if it's not real value. Magic of the market place and all that. The truth will come out. I just wanna predict it.
>>
>>71345161
Fuck off. Spotify is the enemy.

Are you going to parade out a bunch of jew puppet 'artists' like (((Tidal))) did?

I don't understand why people hate Spotify. Where are particular instances that they completely fucked over an artist? Are other streaming services okay (tidal, etc)?

>>
>>71345224
No one is forcing the musicians to participate in spotify. However if they do then I will too because that is literly their choice to make. Otherwise they'll go to bandcamp. Or naively force a blind buy while everyone pirates their shit anyway e.g. Autechre
>>
>>71345343
t. Chaim Shekelstein
>>
>>71345327
And who do they do business with? Soulseek? We'll never truly know their numbers for sure but given how few people follow this model I call bullshit. Forcing a blind buy is an absolute dead market. The solution to stop piracy is to encourage piracy? Well it certainly sounds crazy but crazy enough to work?
>>
>>71342550
>using spotify
you only have yourself to blame kiddo
>>
>>71345419
Actual music fans?

I've been buying music 'blind' from them since '92.

Spotify et al. are fucking parasites.
>>
>>71345412
How much money have you spent on albums this year? I'd be happy to add up mine. Do you have anything to add up?
>>
>>71345272
My 128 gb ipod is more than enough
Just condense your favorites
>>
>>71345445
What do you mean "blind"? I'm talking at most you've heard the singles. That's all drag city is offering. Whybwkuldnyouveven blind buy in 92? Did you not have record stores that would open albums for you?
>>
>>71345449
$200-300 and we're what...8 weeks in?

Actual music people understand how important it is to keep corporations away from our scenes.

I think Americans in general are beginning to wake up to this.

No interest in cheating a bunch of artists so some dick in San Jose can buy a Ferrari or whatever.

PARASITES
>>
>>71345492
No dickhead. What you can't understand is that orgs like Drag City have EARNED trust and credibility.

I WANT them to make money.

Parasites like Spotify deserve nothing.
>>
>>71345506
Post a pic

And just because I didn't spend that doesn't make me a jew. I'm not doin g a damn thing the musician doesn't want me to. Like I said musicians write me all the time gushing about how much I paid them on a name your price or they send me tons of free
>>
>>71345673
I'm at work. I'm financially secure. As long as it's not corporate, I want to pay for the art I consume.
>>
>>71345538
You're so fucking stupid. Do you not understand that you are literally describing charity? You can make anything a charity if you want but that doesn't mean it is one. Not to mention by definition of charity people give what they want so who the fuck are you to judge? Like I said if you really wanna turn this into a charity then you should be buying from bandcamp big time. You seem really risitant to that for some reason.
>>
>>71345724
How convenient. I have everything on my phone.
>>
>>71345731
You're a soulless business asshole who doesn't understand shit about indie and DIY music communities.

Drag City's 1st two releases where fucking Royal Trux and Pavement!

A 'charity'. Kek.

You're soooooo fucking CLUELESS, and that's why Spotify will fail (as it should).
>>
>>71345776
I pray to God English is your second language. You're being severely irrational and obstinate for no reason other than causing suspicion. Anyways enjoy being fucking spoonfed by Muppetcore central Drag City and your precious coffee shops holy fuck. I'll be over here actually cooperating with musicians.
>>
Saw Dream Catalogue sell 300 cassettes in under 2 minutes a few months back. People are getting sick of the mindless detachment of streaming services.
>>
>>71345850
See ya Shlomo. Good luck with the IPO.
