What you call "overproduced" I call high quality.

Golden feelings is the best beck
do people criticize this album for being overproduced?
>>71312296
How good is Beck? I'm thinking about collecting/listening to his stuff.

Are you claiming there is a correlation between quality and production?
Do you even know what you're talking about?

"Overproduced" is a buzzword idiots say to appear like they value "indie" and "diy" sensibilities when they really just value their own egos

Yeah but overproduced usually means too clean for how complex the music is. For example on Sea Change cleaner is better, because he's putting alot of different sounds in, and without the clarity alot of it would get lost in the sound. Now say a punk record with just drums vocals bass and guitar playing power chords doesn't need alot of clarity, so making it too clean is unnecessary and is also less fitting for a for a punk record that sounds better when it's lo fi.
