Not him but no dude you're incorrect. Entirely instrumental music was popular on the radio until the 60s. In the 70s, and 80s (and arguably the 90s) songs could have longer intros or instrumental breaks and still top the charts. The current rule is there has to be a vocalist within the first 7 seconds if you want it to do well. Times change.
