ITT post a screen/chart of recently acquired music, rate, rec
>inb4>iTunes
the fact that you have only just recently acquired 90% of these albums tells me that you must be 15
>>71249772
how old am I then?
>>71249889
21?
>>71249695
good stuff
>>71250145
also 15
>>71249960
2 years off, not too bad
I'd bet you could do some data mucking and create an algorithm to guess someone's age by looking at their favorite albums. Apple probably already has one; suggesting things to buy to the people who most want to buy them is a big deal nowadays
>>71250615
You could probably just look at the specific genres of each album and look at how near the 'center' of that specific sound it is.
The more 'out there' the music is, the more experience they probably have collecting and listening.
I've heard a fair amount before, I was just downloading my entire library in flac so yeah
>>71250876
Forgot to contribute, sorry
>>71250145
I remember having those albums on my itunes when I was 13, no kidding.

>>71250677
I haven't heard most of these, any recs?

cute girl at the desk said nice things about my >taste when I got GKMC and Atrocity Exhibition
>>71250934
recs of what?
The bottom artists are Japanese noise/psychedelic, Tortoise, Mogwai, and Explosions are primo post-rock, Across the River made arguably the first stoner rock album, also listen to 77 Boa Drum for amazing 77 drummer action
>>71251047
>recs of what?
I don't know haha, anything you deem worthy.
I've heard Explosions and Mogwai, never got around to Tortoise but I've heard good things. Not a huge stoner fan but I'll check that out, and 77 drummers do sound intriguing.
I've been wanting to get into Jap music, any suggestions?
>>71250876 This is me by the way
>>71251135
For Japanese music, Boris really sums up a lot of the sound of Japanese music, but in terms of Japanoise, listen to Merzbow, especially Hybrid Noisebloom. Probably my favorite Japanese rock album is 1st by Fushitsusha.
>>71251330
Noted. Thanks anon, guess this is the time to check out Merzbow.
>>71251244

>>71252857
How do I get past Robert Wyatt's vocals? He's fine with Soft Machine but they are hypergrating on Rock Bottom, and people complain about Eno
>>71252945
Hees voice grows on you over time brother
>>71249695
fuck you for pirating blonde bud

Ayy.
>>71253335
I can't really stomach ELP myself but it was a good effort, wondering if there are any prog bands that mostly reappropriate classical pieces instead of just borrowing the pomp and length. I remember cans and brahms from Fragile
>>71249695
ug I don't have enough floor space to layout my vinyl purchases for this month ):
My best album I just picked up this month is probably The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. I've been looking for a copy for like 3 years and I finally got one locally. I got scalped a bit of course because that faggot died recently. Oh well.
>>71249695
fagen a pop genius worthy of Brian Wilson or Prince
>>71249772
what's the other ten % bucko
who else /justgettingintoradiohead/
Daily reminder that you dont own any music unless you paid for a physical copy. If your music is digital it is either stolen or rented.
>>71253112
Yeah not that one, never heard it
>>71253716
>fetishizing ownership
in what doomsday scenario would you really need physical copies? sure i have some LPs, but i don't get autistic about it
>>71253771
>his wifi never crashes
>he's never had a hard drive fail
>he's not a homosexual
kek.
>>71253809
>implying i'm a streamfag
i've got cloud storage, a backup hardrive, whole library is on multiple Zunes, iPods, Walkmen, got handwritten inventories of my library, in the process of committing all songs to memory, redundancies that would make your fucking head spin kiddo
>>71253877
Yet you havent embraced physical media. What a loser.
You arent even listening to music unless its on vinyl or a cassette.
>>71253938
>being this much of a materialist
it's a preference, don't get a big head
>>71253461
nothing really comes to mind
>>71254151
It's not a preference, it's a fact. There is no digital format that captures the warmness of tangible audio.
>>71251135
My dead girlfriend is alright. I'm not sure about their newest album though. I liked pasteboards' glitter album.
