Completely different from Big Black or Jesus Lizard though. Gira said that they didn't even really know how to play their instruments and their drummer would occasionally bang a strip of sheet metal on a table. Big Black and Jesus Lizard are faster and more musically competent, but also less experimental. Albini is a good engineer and and musician but a lot of the albums he's worked on sound very similar.
