Are EQ settings presets curated by genre in music players legit? I find setting it to acoustic often makes most music more detailed. I don't know if I'm right so I was wondering.
what's an eq setting?
You only use EQ for normalizing sound on your non-neutral headphone or speakers

which covers like almost all consumer headphones/speakers right?

Pretty much
I use EQ for my cheap-ass Superlux headphone, which is trebble-heavy, it just works

why isn't there a custom EQ that isn't app based on ios? do they not trust us?
>>71213806
the majority of people that use EQ just end up using it to colour the music aka DUDE BASS LMAO so if they do trust us they shouldn't

honestly I just want it so I can fix the problem frequencies in my car. there are so lower mids that are bad and some around 2k that need to go down cause my ears are starting to hurt

i personally never use the eq on music

It would cover literally any speakers unless you had a specially designed room.
this is stupid, you're changing what the song is supposed to sound like. only reason to do this is if the bass in your speakers or headphones doesnt work or some shit

Most people don't have acoustically neutral listening rooms.
I have a setting for my car which is super rare le heavy for some reason, and one for my home setup, which has no treble.
EQ setting are basically a meme and at the end of day just make your song louder.

not entirely true. most amps are not actually optimized to play "what the song is supposed to sound like"
