I am absolutely in love with My Bloody Valentine's entire discography. What other shoegaze bands can send you into that trance state as well as MBV?
Nothing in my opinion, they are completely in a league of their own.

This is how I'm starting to feel. I've tried listening to so many other bands but they don't even come close. Swirlies, Slowdive, Ride, The Pains..., TJAMC, and more. They're all so much worse.
>>71170116
Not a lot but the closest in my opinion is either Slowdive or All Natural Lemon & Lime Flavors. Sweet Trip can be good sometimes too.

A place to bury strangers first album is incredible.
Have you tried lily's?

No i havent. what album should i start with?
>>71170116
listening to a.r. kane is a trip. especially if you like kevin shield's more downtempo and ambient stuff. not really shoegaze, though
slowdive are fantastic, but a very different approach to mbv. still music to get lost in.
Lift to Experience - The Texas Jerusalem Crossroads

Very similar to MBV. They have some hard hitting tracks too.
You might like the Stargazer EP by Stella Luna.
Shame it's the only thing they've ever released.

LSD and the Search for God - s/t
It's only an EP but it's pretty good.
Also check out A Sunny Day In Glasgow, it's less shoegazey but still trippy af.

Try Dynamo by Soda Stereo. It's a Loveless wannabe but nevertheless amazing

sigur ros. i think they take a lot of influence from mbv but translate it to post rock
>>71170116
LSD and the Search for God's self-titled is pretty close in my opinion. Their second release is also good, but not quite as MBV like. More like a shoegaze version of Ladies and Gentlemen
>>71170551
This or eccsame and the photon band
both great albums. all of their discography is pretty good too, but those are the only two that can really be called shoegazey.

I wouldn't say they're worse, but MBV is so unique in such a weird way that it's difficult to compare them

I love MBV. Loveless is perfect and one of the best Shoegaze albums I've still ever heard. Their self-titled is great too.
But, Slowdive's debut is amazing. It blows MBV's debut out of the water. Just For A Day is already near perfect. Souvlaki is perfect and tied with Loveless as the best Shoegaze album I've ever heard. Pygmalion is then a rather interesting change in direction for a Shoegaze band.
Plus, MBV's EPs are quite overrated. Slowdive had much better EPs.

Unironically this
slowdive cringey vocals and cringey lyrics. "dagger" is one of the worst ever recorded songs.
