Does it matter how much effort is put into an album/song as long as it sounds good?
No. The audience and listeners really don't give a fuck how long or how hard you worked on something as longs as it sounds good.

I'm a studio-head (piano, songwriting, singing, guitar, production, mixing).
I've done sessions that last half an hour and sessions that last 5 hours or more. The results vary each time.
I've written songs in a matter of minutes after being hit with an idea (usually in the car driving) and some songs have taken me weeks to complete. Certain ppl like the ones rattled off quickly and some people like the ones pained after
The point is: nobody has to know your exact process other than you.

the only objective marks of music are its creator and its innovation.
there is no human emotion left that hasn't been expressed in an art form. only reinterpretations of those emotions. if you are a fan of an artist and the emotions/experiences that artist puts into their work, you can be a fan of their art. nothing else is required.
