I go to 2-3 basement shows a week, at various punk houses. I'll play a basement show about once a month.
not for the past few years since all the small venues have shut down and the general direction of the local music scene has shifted from guitars to laptops

If they were noteworthy they wouldn't be playing in a dude's basement for free desu senpai

portland. the sudden popularity of the city pretty much killed the music scene

Usually at least once a month. There isn't at least a thing worth seeing once a week here, but I've been sick a lot the last couple of months.

fucking hell do I instantly hate most laptop musician. I'm a tolerable guy and I know there's effort in what most people put out, but it's so cold and distant, so static, I don't want to find excuses in odd places, but Adorno said that music is like a cry, a naked truth pushing you towards catharsis; not simple guidance of predetermined factors. And he knew the serialists.
>that one guy at a drone show finishing the set by closing the lid of his MacBook
>the audience laugh
>and I feel offended somehow
stuff, I don't give much voice to reactions like that...
