so on this board, Phil Elverum is easily considered superior to Sun Kil Moon, right? I can see an argument made for red house painters being superior to Phil, but not Sun kil moon
none of which mean sun kil moon isn't a decent project

He's embarrassing himself.
>>71022780
Less embarrassing than Songs For A Blue Guitar and Old Ramon IMHO by a long shot. WAY less embarrassing than shitty Modest Mouse covers too. I don't understand your point...

this is trash
It's his dadrap masterpiece. Krautrock drums + mumble Koz + beautiful monologues about life and death + long as hell = a really great record. Critics will probably dismiss this one though.
only old guys in tennis shoes hate the new mark koz

Gonna wait for a download link before I give this thing a listen, but thanks for the heads-up.
DL?
>>71021414
He sang God Bless Ohio and one disney song on his China tour.
Pretty different though. I still remember they added a long grand beautiful keyboard solo(play by a young man) to each song.
>>71025541
What do Chinese people even get out of Mark's music? It would be like Americans going to see a concert by a Chinese Folk Singer that sings about the struggles of Rural Chinese people in Mandarin.
>>71025620
every human being understands struggle and lost m8.
his cousin dying is universal. his love for his parents is universal. him talking about young love is universal
plus instruments are comfy. sure they miss some references but his music is good enough to transcend that
>>71025620
I HAVE NO IDEA
I'm Chinese and that night seemed to be a white party (plus random Chinese girls who are crazy for Red House Painters. )
He seems to like Asia a lot. He toured China twice and wrote quite a lot songs about Asia/ Japan.
That night's show was quite amazing though. That keyboard was killing it. I almost burst out crying for twice.
Couldn't get past the third song, sorry.
I get that people enjoying his mumbly rapping will get a boner over this but to me 'Benji' was still the epitome of this style. Now it's just a lazy wankfest.

The only way you're going to get a download is if someone records the whole thing then divides the tracks. There's no other way. I remember asking for one of the singles to be recorded and no faggot /mu/tant would do it so there's probably no hope.

>>71028579
are you serious? change half the track numbers manually while looking at the official tracklist? fuck that. whoever uploaded it to mega did a shitty job and should learn what the fuck they're doing.
>>71028694
it's pretty easy to fix, especially if you have a superior music program such as musicbee which can actually organize and fix your files for you. Only thing I had to do manually was add the disc number to each track.
>>71022418
lmao no
Elverums best stuff is his black metal work.
>>71022418
Phil's lyrics never really were that good imo. He has some good production chops but all of his Microphones stuff is so nondescript, I know the whole nature and cosmos stuff is kinda his schtick but it just doesn't work that good.

woah whats with the hate for old ramon
shits beautiful yo
so good on the second listen desu
So what's the verdict guys? What would you rate it? I'd say strong 7 light 8 desu. I don't think it's quite as good as UT or Benji, but it's still really good.
>>71033792
Yeah, I only listened to that album cause my name is Ramon, but I loved it, it's not his best work, but it's good
>>71033792

>>71037052
Garden of Lavender is the best song imo
>>71037010
this is actually one of my least favorite songs on that album.
This is My First Day, meanwhile, is one of the best things he's ever written.
>the highway song just started playing
i can't take this album anymore. how many tracks are there? i want it to be over
>>71037088
agreed
>>71037095
i think its his funniest song but fair enuff if it isn't for you.
Chili Lemon Peanuts is so bad, and I really liked UT
>>71027670
yeah wtf was that
forget the lyrics and delivery, these instrumentals are just plain uninspired and monotonous to the extreme, drawn out to around 10 minutes in every song. why did he think this is a good idea
>>71037072
underated lol
>>71021414
So what it sounds like is that this isn't as good as Benji or UT but better than the jesu album, is that correct?
Steve Shelly is playing with CAN at the reunion show, i bet the krautrock is his doing.
