hey guys I'm a pretty big fan of music but all the music i like is sad and at the moment i'd like to pretend that i'm not a worthless depressed bag of shit so what's some music that's happy? pic obviously not related
What kind of music are you into, anon?
I find this album to be joyful. It's Post-Rock though, so all the songs are quite long
Considering your pic... The Cure.
It seems like you need to...

and New Order

I'm into psych, punk, and folk broadly, but i'm not opposed to post-rock (although i've never heard of joyful post rock, ha), and i'll have to check this one out :)

Ha i forgot about this album! I do always love Costello, thanks anon

as much as i love Joy Division i really haven't listened to much New Order apart from PCL, i'll have to broaden my horizons
My boy, the Japandroids will lift your spirits. They just dropped a new album too

What about And So I Watch You From Afar? I always associate them with those guys

I guess that's fair. I was mostly into ASIWYFA during their debut and Gangs and they weren't all too happy-sounding to me at least. Gotten into them again though and yeah, All Hail Bright Futures is uplifting for sure.

All Hail Bright futures is a happy punch in the mouth. But yeah their earlier stuff is a lot more brooding.

Ride - Going Blank Again is incredibly joyful, and their best album to boot.
