hopefully they're explore a more unique sound than their last release. not that their last release was bad - i enjoyed it - just wasn't spectacular. a lot of these garage/psych rock acts nowadays are making good, fun tunes and are especially great live, but it feels like it's becoming so saturated, formulaic I hope they start breaking the mold that's been hardening for sometime now

yeah exactly. it's honestly kinda interesting to me how it's still able to gather as much appeal as it does. it also acquires fairly consistent critical acclaim. I'm not against it sticking around because the live shows are sick and the albums end up being energetic and fun most of the time..but yeah kinda wild how it's just ok with being what it is right now..might be because it is fundamentally a revival of older psych. idk weird stuff

Yeah and i feel like a lot of it just because of Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees. I think if either of them really fall off the scene will too. Personally I think Thee Oh Sees have been pretty shitty recently but they're still going stronger than ever.
