fuck it, just get a entry-level (non-walmart/target) mountain bike for like 7 bills and hunt down some local single tracks. It's exhilarating. And nothing beats feeling exhausted and getting off the bike for a drink of water while overlooking a beautiful forest view.

if you can hit some tracks closer to the city if thats an option and try to find a buddy to hit the trails with, most mountain bikers I meet are pretty friendly and down to earth people as well.
