hey /mu/, I'm looking for music that combines metal with piano. no, I don't mean shitty melodeath songs with some basic chord progression that are used as intros/interludes, I mean something like Rachmaninov going apeshit with some noisy metal/rock playing with it.
kinda like some of Muse's early stuff (space dementia, apocalypse please) but more detailed and heavy.
that sounds redundant and awful, cheesy fucking guitars and drums would just cheapen the immense emotional power of a piano.
forgo this bullshit and do something better with your life

here's something that combines metal and piano in a way that's more literal

gee thanks, that was exactly the answer I was looking for. listen to this (especially 4:42 onwards), and if you still think that, THEN you can go and flush yourself down the toilet.

Even as someone who likes John Cage, and even though it's structurally interesting, god it sounds horrid

it was cheesy beyond my wildest dreams but I gotta admit it starts to get good around that particular point

yeah i guess that off-kilter pitched percussive sound is a bit of an acquired taste. sounds not much different than gamelan music to my ears
