Because you're deluded. RYM's score was at around 3.60ish before his death and it got a big boost after that.

It probably got elevated in light of his death, partly because of the context that adds to the album, partly because people do just like dead artists

However it was already getting rave reviews pre-death, it had a very high score on RYM and both the title track and Lazarus were released pre-death and widely acclaimed (the Blackstar track was over a month before his death too)

Basically if he hadn't died it would still be bold on RYM and would've still made everyone's end of year lists. His death simply altered the reaction from 'love' to 'fanatical love'. It's not really a point worth making
