Who are your favorite female singers in terms of vocals and not looks or stage presence.
>>70641191
Grimes, Liz Fraser (Cocteau Twins), Kate Bush and Emily Haines (Metric). They have the purest voices I've ever heard.
I like Solex's high and nasally vocals despite having seen some people saying she doesn't sound good. Kate Bush too mostly but sometimes it can get a bit grating.
Liz Fraser and Björk
Sarah McLachlan has always been my favorite
>>70641191
Autumn Leaves on this album is awesome. Honestly the whole album is really fucking awesome.

Sand River, my bad.

I saw her before Joanna Newsom. I wasn't even impatient, she's incredible. Slightly boring music but she's such a great singer that it doesn't matter.
Angel Olsen
>>70642343
Her best stuff his just her voice with her guitar.
Kate Bush for sure. She always sounds amazing but her songs with just vocals and piano are incredible. A Coral Room may be my favorite by her.
Maria Ozawa
>>70641191
Cat Power.
Sybille Baier.
Mary Hansen
>>70642194
>Jeff Buckley was hitting that
Bjork and that girl from The Gathering

oldfig here. I was vaguely aware of it and recognized the image when it was posted, but I've never listened.
t. moderate and not gonzo portishead fan, thus the familiarity stopping short of actually listening to solo work. The credited collaborator is something I'd forgotten though.
Iris Dement
Madonna in the 80s
Norah Jones … Feels Like Home has great vocals
>>70643972
Geoff Barrow's solo shit BEAK> is pretty good krautrock inspired music
>>70641191
She looks like Taylor Swift in 20 years.
Mariko Goto from Midori. Her performances on Shinsekai are fucking unbelievable.
Alice Glass
