What does /mu/ think of "indie" /bleep/s like Kaytranada, Todd Terje and Jamie xx? Is it cultural appropriation of real bleeps?
no.
literal shite
cunts should fuck off back to their twing twang
So if they were on warp or some obscure berlin/london label they would be real bleeps? But they're not so theyre fake bleeps?
>>70606200
yeah
we really gonna pretend like there's good bleeps

Not really, many mainstream electronic producers use brightly-colored album covers and high-profile features to get success when their music is actually low-effort and watered down on the production side. Meanwhile underground producers release singles with no labeling, it's literally just the music to be judged and still gain respect
Kaytranada - incredibly talented
Todd Terje - Inspector Norse is still dazzling
Jamie xx - Probably the most 'meh' out of the three if I had to pick, but still great. idrc about anything xx beyond the debut and In Colour is great if only for "Gosh"
appropriation? that's a liberal faggot buzzword. let people make music however they want and i'm sure .00000000001% will have racist ulterior motives
>>70606288
none of those three are 'mainstream'
in fact i think most people would find their music slightly challenging, as crazy as that sounds

This. Fuck edm. Garbage manufactured pop shit.
