What is the best mix? Bowie or Iggy? Also what is your favorite

Iggy's remix is the best. Anyone who says Bowie's is being a tryhard.

Both sucks. Bowie's mix sounds like something rushed made in 4 or 5 hours, because, well that's basically what he did, and Iggy's mix is basically him pushing the gain of every tracks to the max behind a limiter and calling it a day.

there was a remaster of Iggy's mix in 2012 I think, and it sounds really good, less brickwalled but with a bit more edge over the Bowie mix

Iggy. Tried Bowie's once and it almost put me to sleep. I'm sure he could've done a good job with some actual time to work, though.

Funny story, I heard Iggy's mix way before Bowie's. Before I heard Bowie's, I heard Rough Power by Bomp! Records, which is a bootleg of the original song demos. When I heard it I felt totally ripped off, because the songs sounded almost exactly the same as the "official" versions on Raw Power. Then when I finally heard Bowie's mixes I finally understood.

So yeah, Iggy's mix is basically how it was originally supposed to sound.

Bowie was supposed to make it more digestible for the record label, but he was only given about a day, so he did a total rush job. He took kind of a Mott the Hoople glam approach, but it just didn't work so the Bowie mixes sound REALLY dated and 70s.
