Name an album that was released before 2000 that's aged better.

Future Days
SAW 85-92 came out 6 years earlier and aged better.

SAW 1 and 2
I think the concept of music "aging well" is mostly silly and irrelevant - whether or not something sounds of its time doesn't matter to me as long as it's well written and produced (as mezzanine certainly is)
Now that said, it defo isn't an example of what you're describing, it sounds 90s as fuck. Always makes me think of that whole Matrix chic trend from that era

afx fans everyone

>recorded on shit equipment
has nothing to do with the quality of the music
>thinks the music was actually innovative for the time
ambiental has been around since the 1970's, no one thinks it was innovative, but it is indeed, a great ambient album that doesn't sound dated and old.

SAW 85-92 is not ambient though

Portishead's S/T.

but the point I'm trying to make is that SAW 1 is one of the worst examples to use for a pre-2000 album that has aged well, or at least better than Mezzanine going by the OP
>doesn't sound dated and old
it was incredibly dated for its time, I honestly think afx was just playing at his fans for it. Orb's debut fits the bill more nicely

bazinga. most works of art are representative of their time, people can't help but build on what has been done before, and try to appeal at least to some of the contemporary audience.
