I like Kind of Blue because its simple, melancholic, and a little atmospheric. What jazz should I listen to if I want more of these things
Blue Train, Undercurrent, Bitches Brew, Interstellar Space, Naked City, No Love Deep Web

Bitches Brew doesn't fit my description and NLDW is obviously a meme so I'm not sure if anything on this list can be trusted
>simple, melancholic, and a little atmospheric
Have you tried ryo fukui? He's just like that.

>Grant Green - Gooden's Corner
Grant Green has always excelled in my opinion at creating the atmosphere you seem to be talking about. His music is so relaxing and comforting and can make a bad day into a good day for me.
Great performances from all the solists here, Grant Green as usual stands as a cut above the rest when it comes to Guitar. Gooden's Corner for me personally is a highlight of Sonny Clark's career, his Piano playing is truly exceptional here and is one of my favourites of his performances (met closely by his performance on Cool Struttin' of 1958)
I can't say Kind of Blue is my most listened to Jazz album, because it's not. I've personally always been more attached to Blue Note releases since it's what I grew up with. But, when you describe "Simple and Melancholic, and a little atmospheric" Grant Green for me instantly springs to mind. I couldn't recommend his work enough.

In a Silent Way is the obvious next step (also probably the most influential album ever, it's stunning).
