its amazing how an awful band can make this masterpiece? It came out of the blue, MPP has nothing to do with the rest of their works. They should make more albums like this one instead of the crazy shit they do

none are unlistenable and that ranking is severely bias toward the accessible production, which do not always contain their best melodies or musical ideas. they're one of the most influential and imo one of best bands of the 2000s (along with lightning bolt, deerhoof, of montreal, etc.) from the start of their career til MPP (although i still enjoy their output, especially PBVSGR & PW)

a fair ranking (of the studio albums) i'd say is

feels > spirit > sung tongs > merriweather > strawberry jam > here comes the indian >>>>> painting with > centipede hz > danse manatee > campfire songs
