wow I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this until I saw this thread, I really like minimalism, it's my favorite type of classical.

How the fuck is it not classical? Go on any website to read about minimalism and they will refer to it as part of the modern classical canon. Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Terry Riley etc. are all composers, they aren't popular music musicians and they aren't jazz artists so what are they? Art music/classical, this is literally on wikipedia. Minimalism played a huge role in 20th century art music, when people say "20th-century classical" they are referring to minimalism, serialism, the beginning of electronic art music, etc.
