do you have like, an audio interface? or something to plug the guitar into? You can't just slap that thing on the end of a cable and plug it into the computer, its not a midi

You actually can send the analog signal created in by your guitar's pickups into your motherboard's sound card and amplify it digitally. It will sound terrible, but you can do it.

This is my shitty setup, OP. And I use Ableton, though I've been told Cubase is better for instruments. I don't know shit, I've only been doing this about 6 months to passable results

Most soundcards don't have a dedicated line in, just a mic input so D.I.ing in a high gain instrument like a guitar or a line level instrument is just a bad idea.
