Why do Radiohead fans pretend that Pablo Honey isn't a "real"

But other than one being much better, they're not that different. I think fans are unable to admit that Radiohead could make a bad album and therefore pretend that Pablo Honey is an outlier.

Pablo honey isn't bad on itself, it's just that it's so different from what they did with later album that it's hard to look at it and say: ' ah yes that's some good radiohead' when it's just a goodish rock album.

But yeah, calling it 'not a radiohead album' is dumb.

Because Creep is on the album and is mainstream so their "true" fans hate it

Pablo Honey is literally better than Hail to the Thief, also In Rainbows is way more boring than Radiohead fans give it credit for

Nope I'm right there with you. HTTT just has a good bit of fat that could've been trimmed off. I prefer PH to Bends but that's probably because I overlistened to the Bends at one point in my life.

I simply just dont like it. Majority of people find it as their worst album, therefore it is discussed less frequently.

Surely there are people who sill like it, and even those who deem it as their worst still like it a bit.

I havent heard anyone saying it's not a REAL radiohead album tho. Like lol da fuck does that mean? Was it made by a phony band?

Eh, I'd say HTTT is better, but not by much at all. HTTT has a handful of great songs (2+2=5, The Gloaming, There There, Myxomatosis). The other songs, while forgettable, aren't particularly bad. On Pablo Honey, there are only 2 really good songs (You, Blow Out), and the rest ranges from meh to legitimately bad i m o.

I love Pablo Honey. Everything after Amnesiac sucks balls.

I think the only legit bad songs on PH are Anyone Can Play Guitar and Prove Yourself. I agree that there aren't any bad cuts on HTTT, but it's largely forgettable, like you said. Myxomatosis is top ten in their catalog though.

Not really. Amnesiac is much more comparable to Kid A. HTTT is mostly OK Computer 2, with the occasional Amnesiac-esque track.

Pablo Honey is basically the last On A Friday release, it just happened after a name change. "Radiohead" proper kicked into high gear on The Bends, they stepped their game up like crazy on it.
