You can't blame them for making something so mindblowing and unique that every other band strive to copy their sound to the degree the genre itself ends up being no originality.
It's just really a proof of how original and groundbraking their style is.
It's not like every other post-rock band didn't have the same opportunity to make great concept albums.

It's not that bad, but personally, I can't put Slow Riot that high since it's so short. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it, but I just feel that it's a disservice to the other albums to put it that high.

The fact that it's so short and so good makes me enjoy every second that much more. Wish it could have been longer, but I fear that if they forced themselves to make it longer it wouldn't have the same quality. It's what I enjoy the most even if it's just for a half hour.

Fair enough, I can definitely see where you're coming from. I just find that the EP lacks substance in comparison to their other works, as in there's only two "big" parts, some pretty strings at the end, and some nutjob ranting in-between for a while. There's just not enough to it for me, and I think Godspeed are at their best when they're playing big, long movements. One thing I find the EP does a great job though, is demonstrate the range Godspeed can play at.
The rest of the albums have so much more going on throughout them, from massive, frenzied crescendos, to some of the band just quietly singing, so I just find them more interesting and diverse, as opposed to just some slow crescendos and field recordings like what Slow Riot is.
