fair enough. I do enjoy some modern bands but most of them don't have albums that I think are at the level of some of the older ones.

QOTSA? Great band, but lots of meh tracks. Same with Radiohead, Them Crooked Vultures, Foo Fighters, Syndrome of a Down, Jack White, etc.

Any good suggestions for stuff that I can try and bridge myself into more modern genres?

btw, pro tip for searching for more obscure or less popular music. Instead of searching torrent sites, type in the music artist and the album with "zip" or "rar" after. It will take you to some sketchy sites that may or may not be in English, but most of the time you'll get what you're looking for.

Ok I finished the homeshake album. its ok. It kind of sounds like you took a pop Genesis album, slowed the tempo a bit, had Phil Collins breath some helium and swapped his drums for drum pads.

It is a little slow for me to listen to a full album at a time but I think I'll include a couple on my new playlist.

Up next is Endless Bummer by Cold Warps.

Ok I just finished the last album. The two trance ones you sent me are a bit too mellow for my tastes though. Listening through an entire album at a time is like you got to a slow radiohead monologue, but never get the jolts of excitement when the next track kicks in and is totally different.
