So what is /mu/'s official AOTY for 2016? here is a look at leddits
and songs
>>70022882
That one Hillary album we made. It was GOAT.
>mfw Reddit's list is better than most of /mu/ user's lists
Which subreddit is this?
>>70022882
numale as fuck
>>70023392
indieheads
>>70023343
this
>>70023526
/mu/ but it's reddit
>>70023526
explains why it's a decent list.
has /r/music done one yet?
>There are people on /mu/ who think this is a good list
>>70024140
> there are people on /mu/ who have worst taste than even this
>>70022882
wtf i love reddit now
wtf i love reddit now
>>70023264
link?
>implying /mu/'s would be any better
>implying /mu/'s is ever any better
They're always pretty much the same.
This can't be reddit, do they even know anything outside their approved hugbox?
>>70023551
>/r/music
>caring about full albums
>>70022882
>Teens of Denial
Are you fucking serious? Even It's The Big Joyous Celebration was better
>>70024943
It's indieheads. Not the general music subreddit.
>>70022882
>>70022960
I was actually surprised at how good Sleep Cycle was. Definitely in my personal top ten.
> No Danny Brown
What? How did that happen?
>>70025221
it's really good
>>70024872
/indieheads/comments/5k4tjp/the_indieheads_end_of_the_year_2016_results/
>>70025408
There's no hip hop or r&b at all on the list really
>>70025449
> There's no hip hop or r&b at all on the list really
Holy shit, true. Didn't expect that.
>>70025462
I can only imagine it was intentional, cause it's super unlikely that AE or a handful of other albums wouldn't have made a top 50 if they were considered
>>70025449
>>70025462
No hip hop or r&b was allowed for this list
>>70025508
they don't want to trigger the autists over at r/HHH
>>70022882
Wildflower is garbage
Car Seat Headrest is cancer
Radiohead is rubbish
Bon Iver is faggot shit
>>70025508
That's really unfortunate
>>70025580
YOU WALK ON THE SUBWAY...MOVES AROUND
>>70025508
Well, that sucks...
>>70023343
>>70023542
>>70024799
>>70024825
>>70024924
it's either the new contrarian thing to claim that reddit and /mu/ are equal in taste, or the invasion is complete
ought to be ashamed of yourselves
>>70023551
>explains why it's a decent list.
it's not. amsp, blackstar and teens of denial in the top 3 spots is fucking laughable. they do not belong in the top 50 albums of the year
the rest of the list is horrid as well. i 100% guarantee that wildflower would not even be considered if it was a debut album instead of a super hyped up return album
>>70025806
>it's either the new contrarian thing to claim that reddit and /mu/ are equal in taste
you have to be actually retarded ( no hyperbole or memes) to think that indieheads and /mu/ are different in taste in any way
https://rateyourmusic.com/list/Irascibul/favorite-albums-of-2016/
ELSEQ
The funny thing is that it's barely different from /mu/'s, yet /mu/ is so convinced that it's better than reddit for some reason.
>>70027522
fucking this
>>70027887
>>70027522
Holy shit you guys are right wow what geniuses
>>70023264
It was Hillary Clinton - build that wall, you can find it on youtube
>>70022882
pretty good except Wildflower
wtf i love reddit now
>>70022882
Actually that's surprisingly good. Nice to see Deakin, Mitski and Pinegrove on there
>>70025806
>it's not. amsp, blackstar and teens of denial in the top 3 spots is fucking laughable. they do not belong in the top 50 albums of the year
here's your contrarian of the year award.
>i 100% guarantee that wildflower would not even be considered if it was a debut album instead of a super hyped up return album
I never cared for SILY but Wildflower is in my top 5 of the year. that album saved my summer.
In general, the more obscure a subreddit, the less shit it is. This is better than anything /r/music could ever shit out, but it's generally going to be better than /r/letstalkmusic's end-of-year discussions.
You guys act like Reddit is a monolithic entity when there's often less cross-over between boards than there is here.
>radiohead
>indie
kek
>no Atrocity Exhibition
>no We got it from here
>no The Glowing Man
I mean it's definitely not as bad as the Grammy picks but it's not a great list
>>70029877
It's the same for any topic, not just music, sure the front-page crap like /r/funny is disgusting, but generally if you look at the lesser known subs it's not actually as bad as everyone makes it
>>70029940
I would say that all of those are points in its favour, to be honest. None of those albums were very good
Reddit's list is almost identical to most of what I've seen on /mu/. The same circlejerk bullshit. Sad!
I think they might have only liked the Bowie album a lot because he's dead.
