Brokencyde's first album was an interesting and engaging listen, if only because at the time it was unlike anything else in music that I had come across.

Respect it's your opinion, but why do you think he was a genius? A great songwriter and unique powerful vocalist sure, but a poor musician and his expression and image developed the cult of Nirvana, not his talent.

Historically music is full of lyric/music-craft virtuosos and instrumentalists. As big of a figure Cobain is it's hard to compare him to those.
