pt 1 kinda sucks when you really listen to it. The guitar is so utterly compressed and poorly recorded. It sounds like the mic is right in front of the sound hole. Way too boomy. Really ruins the song.

Lo-fi is nice when it's used for textural effects, but it's not an excuse for poor recording technique. Over blowing tape and mic preamps is cool, but over-compressing is pretty gross sounding. Especially if the end result from the guitar is mostly low-end garbage frequencies.
