Level with me here, /mu/. I'm one of the teenagers that got pic related for christmas. Exactly how shitty is this record player?
Does this mean you're below the age of 18?
>he ccomes out as under the age of 18
>thinks mods won't ban his ass

If you value your records do not put them on this machine.
>>69888740
>>69888774
18 is still your teens, anon.
>>69888740
it's shit
tell your parents to return it
take the money instead
>>69888740
I got one as a christmas gift.
Tried the same record out on it and compared it to a Jensen I already have.
It's about as good as you expect the audio quality of a god damn suit-case to be. It's more for the portability than it is the audio quality, so if you're willing to take the low audio quality with the fact you'd be able to play it multiple places easier, then you might get good use of it.
>>69888797
bro, are you actually retarded LMAO
>>69888740
It's bretty shit, colours the fuck out of your sound. t guy who's dad got one. It's better than no record player tho
>>69888740
HOLY SHIT. I'm sorry dude.
>>69888929
Not fucking really dude. These shitty gimmick record players with their non adjustable arms and OVERHANG will kill your records. I think not having a table that ruins your records is better than having a shitty one that actually wrecks your collection
>>69889007
relax, he's probably just listening to adele on it anyways
>>69889147
Well, that's not a nice assumption.
I was going to listen to Bill Withers and MF Doom.
>>69888817
this. tell them that it has a short lifespan and it destroys records.
How well would a nice quality one protect records during use? I don't have one yet but I'm buying older metal albums and stuff at an opportunistic rate atm
Sell or return it immediately, you are actually better off just looking at your records and trying to read the sound off them with your naked eye than you are using one of these things. At least looking at it won't damage it.
Do a little research and find a cheap, decent vintage turntable to hook up to a stereo. It's the only way to go on a budget.
Is the Debut Carbon an alright choice for a first (proper) record player for £300?
Seems to be about the price starting point for a record player with all the 'needed' features. Its got one of those anti-skate fishing line weight things, it looks like it has an (atleast slightly) isolated motor.
The minimal look is also important to me (although I feel bad for it, and know it shouldnt be.)
