End of the 70's? Was it Rock, Soft Rock, New Wave, Disco? I am a child of the 70's and followed pop music pretty closely in that I graduated HS in 1980 and I honestly can't think of any 70's popular song with those lyrics in the chorus.

It's kind of hard to describe but it wasn't disco or rock. It sort of had a hippie vibe to it I guess, though but it certainly had more of an 80s pop sound to it than 70s.
