Is "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer the greatest pop song ever written?

Their La's cover alone is better than Kiss Me
>>
>>69841986
but anyways I really like the dreamy vibe this song has. Always have.
>>
As far as 90s pop goes I'm all for The Cranberries' "Linger":

Yes.
>>
Definitive one hit wonder

I actually saw them play with Daniel Johnston in 98 or 99 and met Thurston Moore at that show and got to talk to him as long as I wanted and/or It got awkward
>>
>>69841986
Which one are you talking about?

Are you retarded or just a Millennial?

Dreams
Toxic or Hit Me Baby One More Time
something by ABBA

Dreams is probably the 'classy' answer there but it's such a good song I don't feel bad
>>
>>69842384
Fleetwood Mac?
>>
>>69841927
Everyone has different opinions on what the definitive best one is, but I can tell you for sure that "Kiss Me" should be at least in everyone's top 10. A real superb song that moves you in every possible way.
>>
>>69842363
Well considering I saw them almost 20 years ago

That's good to hear then although a cover song doesn't count if that's what you mean.
>>
>>69842407
Yeah

I don't go nuts over Rumours but that song is something else
>>
Id sixpence none her richer if you know what I am saying
>>
>>69842485
It really is, and I'm not sure why.
>>

Psychologists at the University of Buffalo suggest frequently indulging in these cheesy and predictable storylines could actually make us better people.

“Repeated exposure to romantic films led to increases in sensitivity for four of the five moral intuitions,” wrote the research team, led by Matthew Grizzard of the University at Buffalo–State University of New York.

What's wrong? I think nothing's wrong with liking good music.
Yes, average rom com soundtracks suck, but have you even listened to one linked by OP? It's one of 90's pop highlights in terms of quality and enjoyment

Apparently I'm weird for this but I hate this band with such a passion because at work I would always have to hear their terrible cover of the greatest pop song ever written, they literally strip out everything that's great about There She Goes...Kiss Me is also garbage but not as inherently offensive
>>
>>69843435
Yeah, I thought her voice was annoying, the lyrics even more so. The melody is also simple af, and really not engaging at all.

I'm not too familiar with the Cranberries, but sonically comparable songs like >>69842058
are a lot more fun and interesting in most any dimension

And I'm pretty sure >>69842631 is just a joke
>>
>>69843645
>And I'm pretty sure >>69842631 is just a joke

>haha it's not rock-based so it must be a joke lel

you are literally a moron, it's a better song than anything else in this thread

I don't know what the best pop song of all time is.

BUT I FUCKING KNOW WHAT THE BEST POP MUSIC VIDEO IS

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF6xU70O73c

Oh man, I love it all, but it really starts going fucking mental at the end. Not going to spoil it for anybody but seriously there's just so many things I love:

1) The actual house on the hill
2) The way they're all stood there in front as though they're almost guarding it.
3) Just look at the women dancing. Stevie just does her trademark skirt swinging gypsy girl thing but what I love is Christine's minimal keyboard dancing, she looks like a hot synth droid.
4) Lyndsey's amazing face movements. Every word is accompanied by sensual head gesturing that emphasises each subtle nuance of his sexuality.
5) That badass stance they all have on the beach. Seriously, this is why music sucks today - it doesn't have middle aged people in it anymore. Middle aged people have an experience and confidence that you can just see in this video.
6) Lyndsey gliding through a hallway while caressing that guitar in a stoic way which contrasts with the impassioned singing intonation...

BUT ABOVE ALL

7) That exact moment when it kicks into double speed and Mick is suddenly drumming at a comically fast pace and we just zoom the fucking back through everything we have just seen. This is a Hitchcock level master stroke.

8) That last frame. That last couple of seconds is just so perfect.

I also forgot to mention the bit where he glides through space and shit.

Jesus Christ this video is just amazing. You'd never get anything like this these days.
