There are people on this board RIGHT NOW who think Spiderland is better than this
>>69840578
Because it is
Not really comparable outside of the genre tag thats slapped on 2BH
idk...I've had phases of enjoying both more than the other.
Because pitchfork?
>>69840717
wtf i love spiderland now
Laughing Stock is the pinnacle of post-rock.
>>69840757
Post rock wasn't even a thing when this album was made. This album isn't consciously post rock in any way.
>>69840602
lol
>>69840820
Get out of here prescriptivist scum
What if I think that this is better than both?
>>69840820
Post-rock wasn't acknowledged as a "thing" by bullshit music writers*
"Post-rock" dates back to the 60s.
I don't know why you would compare these albums in the first place, but yes Spiderland is better. Good Morning Captain is probably the best song of the 90's.
>comparing albums that came from polar opposite points of inspiration

more like pineapple
Childhood is idealizing Slint.
Adulthood is realizing Talk Talk makes more sense.
I actually hate that album and think Spiderland is overrated
>>69840909
you're a fucking waste. Talk Talk is bullshit designed to sell records while Slint wasn't dictated by their label. Slint's sound doesn't take root in a team of producers and or record agents trying make a quick coin. The goal of Talk Talk, as a whole, was to make hits. The goal of Slint was to be the Nosferatu Man.
And to clarify, Talk Talk isn't bad. They're just not comparable to Slint.
Laughing Stock is significantly better than Spiderland. I don't understand how anyone can disagree with this.
>>69840978
Mediocre bait.
>>69840997
idk
there's a grimes general on the first page of /mu/ that has almost reached bump limit so
>>69840978
hope this is bait. for anyone reading who doesn't know talk talk gave a big fuck you to their label and locked themselves away for ages to record laughing stock on their own terms
Did Steve Albini review any of Talk Talk's work?
>>69841043
who cares he's a fucking hack
shellac is ok though
