the name isn't literal.

anime grime as used here, refers to the newer style of instrumental grime that started fairly recently. a style that is fairly far removed from the traditional mc focused affairs. it's a necessary distinction, the choice of words might not be to your liking, but you don't matter.

>>
>>69785045
I was kind of hoping that when Manix released an LP in 2013 and an EP in 2014 that he'd come back with a bit more, but it hasn't happened. There was a new Cold Mission track on one of the AKO Beatz releases but I think it was one of the earlier ones.

And Twist Em Out was horribly popular for a while, it was basically the worst D&B track around that wasn't Andy C & Shimon - Bodyrock.

>>69785046
Jump Up at one point was hugely popular. If a D&B rave flyer had an MC on it, there was going to be a Jump Up set, guaranteed. They are all pretty shit, I only listen to it occasionally. Quite a few Jungle labels went from being great to shit when they started releasing Jump Up (mainly Ganja Records and Joker Records).

When I'm 30 and a bigboy producer/dj/label owner I'm going to license all the tracks in the anime grime playlist that I've been compiling and put out a fat 3xCD compilation, with a fucking enormous picture of some bait anime girl on like kagome from inuyasha that always gets posted, and huge embossed letters that read "A N I M E G R I M E" and also the kanji equivalent

Preorders will get a bonus CDr of a special 120-minute mix of the tunes, and there will be two 12" samplers

>the wire
>1. Blackstar

>scaruffi
>As usual with Bowie, Blackstar (RCA, 2016), produced again by Tony Visconti,, is mostly image and very little about the music. The ten-minute Blackstar, that was supposed to be the centerpiece, is little more than a funereal litany a` la Doors with jazz horns that goes on five minutes too many. Bowie crooning melodramatic in Lazarus (from his Broadway musical about an alien who falls in love) or romantic in Dollar Days is either delirious and pathetic, certainly not entertaining. His tedious voice interferes with the driving jazz jam of 'Tis a Pity She Was a Whore and with the frenzied and tense Sue (a 2014 single). Even when the voice is not a distraction, the rest is hardly intriguing: I Can't Give Everything Away boasts an awful distorted guitar against syncopated beats and layers of electronic drones: not exactly genius. This is trivial "music" that any amateur could make, except that most amateurs would be ashamed to release it.

Gee I wonder which one is worth reading. Scaruffi, an older gentleman with thousands of artists cataloged, or a publication that accepts contributions from clueless 20 year old auroras

there's really no other name for it, because there's nothing that quite sounds like it

Pay attention to the short track durations, the choppy vocals, the bouncy kick patterns, the endlessly recycled gunshot, bedsqueak and "hey" samples and the chaotic nature of the tune.

I didn't really got into Outer Edges, Noisia knows how to tackle other genres BRUL and Raar are some of my favorites but this album does nothing for me.

That remix of Power Curve was the closest thing to proper Noisia I've heard in years.
I just wish they stuck a little more time with the Imperial EP sound, that stuff was hard as fuck.

Reading up about the origins of bleep music in the early 80's, it's absolutely fascinating the melting pot of different genres like funk, post-disco, early hip-hop and Kraftwerk-inspired synthpop that electro and then house/techno were born out of. Makes me feel slightly sad that there's no longer that level of cross-pollination in the internet age with most genres existing in their own self-contained subculture 2bh.

Calibre is boring and repetitive, somethig that Break is not in my opinion, I can`t put it more bluntly. And no I haven`t mastered any skill in life,I`m 26(too young for that), but I listened loads of Drum & Bass for like 7 years, and all sorts, thust me I know what is quality DnB, Calibre is at most mediocre
