How old were you when you went through your "le right generation" stage? For me it was when I first started to browse /mu/ at age 15, tapering off at around age 17 when I realised we are currently living in an era of great cultural stagnation and music is more or less completely dead.
There's a music scene in every city and you can listen to more music now than ever before. Shut up.
I was born in the right generation because I can filter through all the (c)rap music and stick to fantastic genres and bands of the past, all in a matter of clicks.

Is this supposed to prove me wrong?

I might be persuaded by this if I were only interested in blind consumption of media and not legitimate progression within the arts.

This famalam. Even pretty popular "underground classics" like The Velvet Underground or Modern Lovers are more easily accessible now than they were at their release.
Truly this is a great age for music.

The mainstream is absolute garbage though. A quick glance at the billboard top 40 charts would tell you that.
